Tile repair

Cracked, loose, hollow-sounding or chipped tile. We look at it in person first, because the right fix depends on what is behind the tile.

Before you call

Grout, matching tile, and why to keep your leftovers

If it is the grout that looks bad, try a good cleaning company first. We don't offer regrouting. It usually comes out too expensive to be worth it, and depending on the cleaning company, they can often get the grout considerably cleaner. Maybe not 100%, but more bang for the buck.

Regrouting can also damage tiles that were in good shape. To regrout, you have to scrape out the old grout, and that means getting a little rough with it. If a tile chips or cracks and there is no leftover tile, there is nothing to replace it with.

Matching is the other problem. Even a commonly carried tile won't match after years in place, because traffic and cleaning products have worn and stained it. And tile is made in lots, each with its own shading, streaking and veining. Tile ordered today and tile ordered two weeks from now can differ in color and shade.

If tiles are actually cracked or loose, that is a repair, and we are glad to look at it.

Grout that is cracking or coming out is rarely just a grout problem: what is usually behind it

If you still have leftover tile from the original job, keep it. A repair goes best with it.

We recently had Lucas and his crew from Summit Home Services remodel our bathroom, and the results exceeded our expectations. Lucas was professional, reliable, and easy to communicate wit, he always got back to us quickly and showed up right on time. The space looks beautiful, and the job site was spotless when they finished. I'd definitely recommend Summit Home Services and will be calling them again for future projects!

Lucas and his team helped with a bathroom remodel that we were doing. They were responsible for all tile work, paint, moldings and install of our vanity. In addition, they painted our ceilings in several other rooms. They were completely professional. The work was done on schedule, they cleaned up each day prior to leaving our home, and the work is beautifully done. I would not hesitate to use them again.
